The Sales team at SmartBridge Health is responsible for communicating the value of SmartBridge Health’s offerings to different audiences including patients, caregivers, organizations, and industry influencers. Meet our Director of Sales, Francisco Ramirez, in the Q&A below.

What do you do at SmartBridge Health?

I lead the Sales team.  I draft one-pagers, develop our sales strategy and meet with prospective customers (e.g., hospitals and foundations in Chile) to get their thoughts about our pricing, business model and solutions, and then convert them to clients.  

What inspired you to join SmartBridge Health?  

When I first learned about the opportunity at SmartBridge Health, and read about the products and services we provide, I realized I had the chance to use my skills to help people in their daily lives, and in a truly critical area – cancer.  SmartBridge Health’s mission to help make optimal cancer care accessible to the masses through technology really resonated with me, and I wanted to be a part of it.

What's been your most memorable/rewarding SmartBridge Health moment so far? 

My most memorable/rewarding moment at SmartBridge Health so far has been the Startup Games at the British Embassy in Santiago.  At the startup competition, I met a cancer hero who was touched and encouraged by what we're doing, and really want to help us create global impact.  I was proud to tell people where I work and what we do and I see the respect and excitement for our cause on their faces.  I am so happy to be a part of what we are doing here.  That feeling never gets old! 

If you could change one thing about Chile's healthcare system, what would it be? 

In Chile, the best healthcare is offered at the expensive private hospitals. It is a two-tier system where you pay a lot more for better healthcare.   Healthcare is a government-paid right, but we don't have the best care for those who can't pay.  I'm inspired by Singapore, where, for a little bit more money, you can access stellar healthcare.  

What are you most passionate about outside of the office?  

I love photography and work part-time as a wedding photographer.  

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? 

I want to instantly move from one place to another place.

What do you do at SmartBridge Health?

I am responsible for business development and marketing.  I lead focus groups, manage social media content, and represent the company at key industry events. 

What inspired you to join SmartBridge Health?

I joined SmartBridge Health because I strongly believe in the company's vision to bring on-demand access to top oncologists for cancer patients.  

From the moment of my first interview, I knew that the people here are genuine, caring and truly are making a positive impact for patients.

How did you get started in your career field?

I have been working as an emergency medical technician for over twelve years.  I want to combine my passion for helping people with my strong interest in business to create global impact.  

If you could change one thing in U.S. healthcare, what would it be?

I would love to increase the use of digital technologies and big data to help consumers make better health decisions and accelerate cancer research.   

What are you most proud of?

My greatest accomplishment is raising my three daughters and taking care of my family.  

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I want to cure all diseases.
